clothing prices set to increase this spring
Perhaps all the more reason to sew? Clothing prices are expected to jump this spring not only because of the rising cost of raw material (remember the floods in India, China and Australia? These are some of the major producers of cotton.) but also the rising cost of labour. Another cost factor to clothing is shipping costs. Some industry sources are saying that some manufacturers are reverting back to having the clothes made in North America in order to save on the 'shipping from Asia' costs. Sounds like it's time to get those sewing machines a-humming!
