New arrivals to Victoria, BC.

Two pieces of black merino wool knit direct from New Zealand. One is 100% merino, the other is 96% merino, 4% lycra. How about a softly draped jacket such as Marci Tilton's Vogue 8653? Or Sandra Betzina's Vogue 1124?

Also new from Italy is some light coat or jacket weight 100% wool with a bonded windblock lining. Have the Goretex windblock benefit in a more stylish look! In two colours only - heathered charcoal and camel. Limited yardage!

Fashion highlights for fall/winter 2010-2011 (recap)

Return of beautiful quality fabrics as a remedy for depression
Ink blues and purples is an important colour palette, combine blues with orange or rust, neutrals are finely shaded with a hint of colour, organic greens, camel, urban grey for coats instead of black
Revamped tartans – different colours and weaves
Fur – faux and real (although maybe not the real on the West Coast!)
Leather in both traditional black and brown as well as metallic colours
Hourglass silhouette back in vogue - extended shoulders (not as much as the 80’s) fuller sleeves, belted waists, peplum
Decorative stud and zipper details in coats/jackets, play on seam details
Bubble wrap – full and cozy wrap coat in heavier textured fabric
Denim – washed, distresses, coloured, as well as eco-friendly blends
Men’s shirting – traditional with a twist
Knits for a softer style
Hint of military styling influenced by the Amelia Earhart movie

Here are some yummy new silks that have just arrived! Love the coordinating floral and diamond silk noil designs. Washes well for a nice drapey hand. Jacket and top perhaps? Or a fancy pieced jacket using the 2 prints?

Also received these diamond printed jacquard silk doupioni. How about a man's vest under his black tuxedo jacket for weddings/Christmas party(s)?
The Vancouver location has just put out 6 new Viyella-type plaids. Made of 80% wool and 20% cotton, these plaids are just the thing for this fall's fashion trend. Washable too!
